Success in research science depends as much on effective communication as it does on technical competency. Whether it be a refereed journal publication, a seminar, funding application, conference presentation, or coverage in the mainstream media, the visual impact of your work is critically important. Media-savvy scientists understand this fact. While extremely skilled in their own discipline, they recognize the value in commissioning equally-competent visualization professionals to foster exposure.

As a scientist, I appreciate the complexities of conveying complex research concepts to students, granting agencies, government, businesses, the general public, and even to other colleagues whose backgrounds can differ greatly. Good visualizations offer a communication bridge. In the past, I have used students and animation trainees. However, my experience with EDM Studio is that professionals deliver a superior product faster and cheaper than working in-house. EDM Studio's iterative process provides an efficient negotiated approach to team development of visualizations. The resultant animation of solid state quantum computing has proven to be immensely useful.

In addition to our animation expertise, EDM Studio offers custom visualization software, museum-class design, and audio-visual solutions at a variety of scales, everything from the desktop, to the lab, to university visitor and science centres.
