Audience members were enthralled by the "behind-the-scene" 3D view, a number even convinced that they were actually looking through a transparent window onto the back of the spectacle. The compelling 3D effect was achieved by the generation of stereo-correct left-eye and right-eye digital movies. This image shows the virtual view (foreground) along with the separate left and right-eye views (background monitors). Note, the superimposed movies are "decoded" for each eye by special glasses worn by the viewer.
