The museum market is changing. Traditional exhibits of labelled artifacts under glass are giving way to more diverse installations that incorporate computer-generated content. Done properly, the synthesis can be compelling. However, in the rush to integrate digital media into the 21st-century museum experience, there is an unfortunate tendency to simply deploy stand-alone info kiosks or looped video screens. Almost independent of the content, these exhibits ignore that a visit to a museum is (i) an opportunity to interact with unique physical artifacts, and (ii) a social experience.

EDM Studio believes that a compelling digital exhibit should foster group interaction. We use a combination of large-screen projection, virtual and augmented reality, novel interface devices, and custom content/software to create unique visitor experiences.
