Software and Digital Content

Historically, computer graphics have fallen into one of two camps: real-time software such as games and military simulators, and the pre-rendered special effects typical of Hollywood feature films. Driven largely by the computer gaming industry, the last decade has seen the gap between these once-distinct specialties shrink considerably. Photorealistic images that once took many hours to 'render' can now be recalculated many times per second. EDM Studio has over 10 years of experience in both fields. We leverage a combination of proven technologies with the latest advances in graphics hardware and software to deliver unrivalled large-scale multi-user interactives.

Interactive 3D

Pictured here is our medical visualization demonstration where audience members turn, tilt, and slice a virtual head to reveal high-resolution photographic data. The model is displayed in 3D by simultaneously projecting left-eye and right-eye images onto a rear projection screen. When viewers wear filtered glasses to decode the overlaid images, the head appears to float in space.

Artistic Renderings
